An allegation has been raised against the opponent of slaughtering a woman by entering the house in Chunarughat of Habiganj. Police arrested one person in this incident. The incident took place at Jarulia village of Gazipur union of the upazila around 11 o'clock on Friday.
The deceased woman's name is Ayesha Akhter Poly (30). She is the wife of Akter Mia, a Saudi Arabian expatriate of that village.
Chunarughat Police Station (OC) Md. Ali Ashraf said that the family of Saudi expatriate Akhtar Mia had been in dispute for a long time with Gabru Mia of that village over a road to travel home. There is also litigation between them. On Friday, there was an argument between the two parties over the extraction of guava from the tree. At one point, the relatives of opponent Gabru Mia's sons Masuk Mia (30) and Mamun Mia (20) entered the house of Poli Akter and killed him with a stick and cut his throat.
On receiving the information, Chunarughat police reached the spot and recovered the body and brought it to the police station. At that time, the police detained one person for questioning. OC said that the body is in Chunarughat police station. After postmortem, it will be sent to Habiganj morgue for post-mortem.
